A FULL HAND OF FINE RESULTS!
Three prestigious awards just won by our wines
It is with great pleasure that we wish to bring to your attention three prestigious awards just won by our wines, in addition to the excellent rating the Wine Spectator gave to our PEROLLA ROSSO 2006 (87 points).
In the next issue of that publication, our IL GRIGIO CHIANTI CLASSICO 2005 got 90 points, a decidedly exceptional score for its category, a ranking never achieved until now.
After falling short by just a hairsbreadth with its first release, the 2003 vintage, and receiving 93 points for the 2004, our PUGNITELLO 2006 has been awarded THREE GLASSES by Gambero Rosso in their upcoming Guida dei Vini d’Italia 2009.
We will attend the awards ceremony, which will be followed by the customary tasting for the public, which will take place at Lingotto in Turin, Saturday, October 25, in the Salone del Gusto of Slow-Food.
This prestigious award to Pugnitello is especially welcome and gives us great pride, since it crowns 20 years of research and experimentation on native grape varieties that San Felice has pursued on its own, a long journey that met its goal two years ago with the release of this wine, which certainly qualifies as one of the most important new developments in the Italian wine world.
Another historical wine of ours has also won a top award, and precisely on the 40th anniversary of its first harvest, which we celebrated with the ‘Supertuscans’ conference last March at San Felice.
The Guida dei Vini 2009 di Veronelli has awarded its SUPER THREE STARS to VIGORELLO 2004.
Thus, a poker dream hand, a four-card flush, for four wines very different in style and price range, a recognition of the unceasing and painstaking attention we pay to all of our wines, a philosophy that has always characterised our winery.
