Technical aspects
The various properties that comprise Agricola San Felice, divided into the three tenute of San Felice, Campogiovanni and Perolla, cover a considerable part of Tuscan territory.
The growing conditions, weather, and soil profiles of the individual production areas are the primary guarantee of the qualities of the various terroirs. The climate is favoured by the protection of the neaby Apennines and by the benign influence of maritime breezes. The Tuscan soils of sedimentary origin are ideal in particular for growing grapes for well-structured red wines with lengthy ageing potential, while the alluvial soils are superb for producing younger-drinking wines, both reds and whites.
In addition to these basic requirements, San Felice commands a comprehensive and widely-respected expertise in winegrowing, now stetching back over a century, that is solidly founded today on research and experimentation.
