Campogiovanni

On the Montalcino hillslopes, under the beneficent influence of the breezes from off the Mediterranean, the olives enjoy an earlier harvest. The Campogiovanni oil smoothes out somewhat the frantoio’s pungency, helped as well by the local olivastra di Montalcino variety.
The Montalcino oil is an appealing green-shot gold, while the nose opens an impressive spectrum of aromas ranging from fresh grass to dried nuts. The palate is smooth, but a subtle thread of acidity and a restrained pungency show through.
